400 Gold - State Swim Swimming Schools
400 Gold Award
The State Swim 400 GOLD is a single award that assesses Children and Adults for their true swimming ability.
To receive the certificate a person will be required to swim 400 metres non-stop with correct breathing and technique in a relaxed rhythmical Australian Crawl (Freestyle).
The State Swim 400 GOLD is recognition that the recipient is a strong and competent swimmer.
The initial goal is to complete the 400 metre swim. This in itself is a statement of the swimmers ability, however the time taken to complete the 400 metres is recorded on the certificate.
This can act as an incentive to maintain a personal fitness programme and to prepare the swimmer for future attempts at the 400 GOLD.
To have the 400 GOLD is a real statement of a swimmers ability.
To assist in achieving the ultimate goal of completing the 400 GOLD, State Swim has introduced two new awards, the 100 BRONZE and 200 SILVER.
These stepping stones allow the swimmer to gradually build up their fitness and stamina by completing the 100 metre and 200 metre swims prior to attempting the 400 GOLD.
The 100 BRONZE and 200 SILVER must be completed in the same manner as the 400 GOLD, times will be recorded on the certificate and more than one attempt may be made for each award.
