Every 8 weeks we recognise a staff member (at each school) who has excelled in their role over the previous eight weeks. We are committed to recognising and rewarding our best people.
The qualities we look for include:
- a positive 'can-do' attitude
- a willingness to go 'beyond the call'
- making a positive impression, setting a positive example and contributing to all (staff, customers and visitors)
This person receives a $50.00 voucher (of their choosing), is recognised on the 'Best on Deck' sign at their school, and on our State Swim website.
We appreciate our staff, this award is just one of the ways that we hope to acknowledge them.

Seaton Best on Deck June - Sriyani
Sriyani has been at Seaton for 6 years, consistently working with Penguin children. She is extremely patient and encouraging. She rarely takes time off and is always available. Sriyani is quiet at work but loves going out and enjoying herself. It is fantastic to have Sriyani at Seaton - we're extremely proud of her and admire the way she has halved her shower time!!!
Norwood Best on Deck June - Kayla Hamilton
Kayla is an instructor who loves her job and is always enthusiastic and helpful. She is consistent, passionate and a pleasure to have as part of the Norwood team!!!
Golden Grove Best on Deck June - Ashlee Durbidge
Ashlee has been a wonderful part of the Golden Grove team for 3 years, providing lots of laughs in the staff room!!! She is a crowd favourite with both parents and children in her classes and has a special gift for straightening out some of the 'cheeky kids'!!! Her hobbies include water skiing, guitar, music, shopping and friends.
Morphett Rd Best on Deck June - Marianne Collier
Marianne has worked at Morphett Rd for just over a year. She moved to Adelaide from England in 1998, is married and has a beautiful daughter, Amelia. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves reading, particularly the 'Twilight Saga'. her favourite movies are Dirty Dancing, Love Actually and Sex and the City.
Clovercrest Best on Deck June - Emma Clayton
Emma has been a valued team member for 13 years. She loves dancing, reading and watching movies. Thanks for all your efforts Emma, keep up the good work!!!
Mt Barker Best on Deck June - Renee Bell
Renee has been at Mt Barker for 6 years, 1 as Assistant Operations Manager. During this time she has studied for, and successfully completed her PE degree. Renee now has 2 beautiful children, Lucas and Airlee who are both State Swim Waterbabies!!!

Seaford Best on Deck June - Kath Cain
Kath emigrated from England with husband Gordon and sons Jordon & Connor 2 years ago. Having been with us since October 09, she teaches Penguin, Seals, Starfish & Marlin. Kath has a great sense of humour and is an asset to our team. In her spare time, she enjoys going to Zumba classes and, in another life is a hairdresser, which is why we all look so good!!!
Unley Best on Deck June - Brigita Mignone
Brigita is an Unley girl through and through. Those of us who have been around long enough would remember teaching Brigita and are now proud to have her as a member of our team. She has been with us for the past year and is always reliable, punctual, adaptable and a pleasure to have on shift. Brigita is always smiling, up for a chat and involves herself in the social aspect of the swim school, in particular, the Unley Sharks netball team. A job well done Brigita, keep up the good work!!!
