At State Swim, we have an extraordinary team made up of people with many and varied talents striving to achieve personal goals outside of our work environment. We believe it is important to recognise and applaud their achievements - these are our 'Magic Moments'.
Unley's Mark Haskett & resident cricket guru is waiting with nervous anticipation to hear if he will be selected to play in the upcoming Blind Cricket Ashes series. The series will be held in England in late May, early June 2012.
Mark's preparation for the road to England has been a long one....

On Sunday 25th September, Jamie Adams (OHS & Plant Operations Manager) completed his first Ultra Marathon. He ran the 56km from Belair to Athelstone along the Yurabilla Trail in a time of 7 hrs and 13 mins.
Talk about a marathon effort!!!!.....Dustin Hoffman eat your heart out!!!...

State Swim Unley's Mark Haskett (aka the penguin) has achieved his dream of captaining the Australian Blind Cricket Team. Over the past week he's been participating in the first Blind Cricket Australia tournament held in Adelaide. What a brilliant achievement...we're proud of you Mark!!!!
Mt Barker staff member Barb has scooped the pool at the seventh Pan Pacific Masters Games held on the Gold Coast in November 2010. Barb came home with 8 Gold medals in the 50m, 100m, 200m & 400m Backstroke, 200m & 200m Individual Medley, 100m Butterfly & 1.5km open water swim. She also won a Silver medal in the 50m Butterfly. Brilliant effort Barb...Congratulations!!!
Congratulations to Sarah Adams!!! After a gruelling day of training with Amanda, work, and a 34km bike ride, Sarah swam a massive personal best of 5km in the Unley Swim-a-thon fundraiser for Operation Flinders held on the 24th of September. What stamina, what determination, what a fantastic achievement!!!
Congratulations to Jamie Adams, Julie Stevens and Amanda Allen on their completion of the Vanuatu Adventure Race. An extremely challenging three day event which included running, trekking, ropes, abseiling, canoeing, swimming and snorkelling. What an experience!!!!!
Seaton's Operations Manager, Geri Kearney has starred, winning 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals at the Surf Life Saving Pool Championships held in Melbourne during June 2010. What a mammoth effort!!! Congratulations Geri!!!
After a hard week of Trailblazer training and taking part in the Unley Swim-a Thon, Unley State Swim's Partha Varanashi has once again proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the Masters Interclub. In his 25 -29 yrs age group he has achieved the following results:
1st 50m Freestyle 26.37sec
1st 50 Butterfly 28.78sec
1st 25m Freestyle 11.78sec
